Miami Invests in LGBT Elders: SAGE Expands Our Family of Donors

On February 13, more than 50 people attended our Investors Circle event in Miami to learn about SAGE’s efforts to improve the lives of LGBT older adults. The event was held at the beautiful Miami Beach home of one of our dearest supporters and National Leadership Council members, Jim Pepper. By the end of the night, many attendees had contributed generous gifts to support our work.

Investors-CircleThe support of Investors Circle donors is absolutely vital, ensuring that the growing ranks of LGBT older adults are afforded the respect, care and benefits that should be available to all. This support allows SAGE to have a national impact, through programs such as our National Resource Center on LGBT Aging and SAGEWorks, a national work readiness program for mature LGBT workers.

We are also committed to working with supporters nationwide. SAGE is welcoming new circles of donors from across the 50 states. In recent months, we have held similar Investors Circle events to introduce people to the work of SAGE (and share how they can get involved) in places such as Los Angeles and Washington, DC. In fact, this was the first event of its kind in Miami for SAGE.

This expansion of our supporters follows the national expansion of our Board, all reflecting the broad geographic nature of SAGE’s work. Thanks to a committed host committee, it was a wonderful evening for all of us and we are looking forward to returning to Miami! We are grateful to the support and gifts from our Investors Circle members. It is because of our many supporters that LGBT elders across the country will continue to benefit from SAGE’s cutting-edge programs and services.
